wizard101 Pet stats guide

wizard101 Pet stats guide rating :5.0 by:

Ok, I’m writing this guide down to help pet trainers understand if they should level their pets right from the get go just by looking at the stats (strength, intelligence, will, and agility). Also, this is assuming, you know your pets have gotten percentage traits or numbered traits (spell proof, health gift, etc.).

*I will also state, that I am excluding power (For simplicity sake) and derby talents.
*The true formulas can be found on Wizard101 Wiki(use those formulas for much more accurate answers; my equations are for quick and simple need to know basics)
*Also, this guide is still incomplete and I’m still gathering info about “Accuracy” talents
*One more to add is that all numbers are rounded DOWN, not up, unless stated otherwise.
*If requests are high, I will add both the simple and true formulas together.

**I will also use a pure (dropped or bought) Sea Dragon as my base example
Sea Dragon:
Str 240
Int 250
Agi 250
Will 225
Pow 250

Basic

As you’ve all seen:

Strength

Affects damage, power pip, and resistance talents

Intellect

Affects mana, accuracy, and power pip talents

Agility
Affects health, accuracy, and resistance talents

Will
Affects damage, health, and mana talents

Resists

Proof:
For resist talents, we focus on Strength and Agility. This is where you’ll want to know if you’ll get that 9% resist or make it to that 10% spell proof.

For every 24 average points, you gain 1% to spell proof or any school specific proof.

As you noticed, I said 24 average points and not just 24 points. What does that mean?

It means that you have to add up the stat numbers; str and agi for this case, and divide it by 2 to get your average sum (example: 240 + 250 = 490 / 2 = 245 average points)

Now, right now, you’re thinking, what does that have to do with resist?

Well, let me show you. You take your average points (245, which we just calculated) and divide it by the 24 average points. 245/24 = 10.208 (round it down to 10) That number (10) right there is our resist percentage. So, for anyone that wants that 10% spell/school specific proof instead of 9%, get a pet that has a total average str and agi of 240. (This doesn’t mean you have to have a pet specifically with 240 str and agi, just as long as the two stats adds up and averages out to around 240)

Here’s the equation for Proof:
(Str + Agi)= Total of Str & Agi (/2) = Average of Str & Agi(/24) = Resist % of proof

Defy:
Spell defy is different in terms of numbers compared to spell/school proof. It still follows under the str and agi stats.

For every 45 average points, you gain 1% resist.

Rather not much difference compared to proof, but with a much higher point average. To get to the max resist (5%), you would need an average of 225 points in str and agi.

For anyone that needs the equation for Defy:
(Str + Agi)= Total of Str & Agi (/2) = Average of Str & Agi(/45) = Resist % of Defy

Giver:
Pain/school-giver also, follows the same formula as the resist, but with just different stat points. But instead of Str and Agi, it goes under Str and Will.

For every 39 average points, you gain 1% attack boost.

If you want a 10% pain/school-giver you would need a point average of 390 str and agi (which currently is impossible, even with 3 selfish talents). The highest for a sea dragon will get is 7% giver, and that is with 3 maxed selfish talent (crafty +50 will, Tenacious +50 str, and Vigilant +25 str & will = 150 + 240 + 225 = 615/2 = 307.5/39 = 7.88 [round down] and that is 7% giver). Of course if a pet has a high str & will with 3 maxed selfish talents (point average of 312) you can just get it to 8% giver. But of course no one will want 3 selfish talents just to raise up pain/school-giver ;P.

For anyone that needs the equation for any giver:
(Str + Will)= Total of Str & Will (/2) = Average of Str & Will(/39) = Giver %

A side note:
If a number that has a decimal number higher then .5 is added into your stats, it is rounded up, but will NOT show as the bigger number (example, 7.7 is suppose to round up to 8, but isn’t, rather is stays at 7.7 or just 7%, but this decimal will add up to your TOTAL average points, like 7.7 (7%) proof + 4.6 (4%) defy = 12.3 resist, not 11% resist)

Accuracy:
Still need more info.

Using your Sea Dragon, the total Health Gift will give is 250/5 (Agility) + 225/5 (Will) + 250/10 (Power) = 120 Health.

Mana Gift is similar. 1 mana for every 6.25 points in Intellect & Will, and 1 mana for every 12.5 points in Power. Again using your sea dragon as an example (I don’t believe a 1st gen sea dragon can get Mana Gift, but that’s beside the point), 250/6.25 + 225/6.25 + 250/12.5 = 96 Mana.

Pips:

Str + Int = (sum of str & int)/2 = average/50 = Pip O’Plenty %

Additional data:
Using only Frosted Cereal (+2 str, agi, & pow) and perfecting all MarleyBone stage Cannon game (+1 str, agi & +2 will). Which is +3 for str, agi, pow, and +2 on will.

Since I’m only working with the resist formula, the only stats that will matter to me is Str, Agi, and Power
Currently test subject:

Sea Dragon: 236 str, 200 Agi, 231 Pow

If you’re wondering what these numbers are below, they are the stats averages of my current pet I’m collecting data for. For this data to be accurate, I have to perfect the cannon game every time, so that the three stats stays the same number (eg. 59 str, 59 agi, and 59 pow). The data below is the changes in resist when I gain that certain amount of stat points. Also, the reason why the numbers are 3 points apart, is because when I feed the pet, I gain 3 points in those stats so I record the number it’s currently at, then minus 3 and add that number. As this is to show no number is left out with the final equation.

38-40 str, agi & pow = 2% resist
61-64 = 3%
Adding more…such a slow process…

I will be doing much number crunching with this, but if you have any info, please feel free to comment
Hope this guide will help some pet trainers better understand the stat numbers for those looking for awesome % resist or boost :P
